The Utilities, water, sewer and garbage collection are provided by the Checotah Public Works Authority(CPWA).  The CPWA is ran by a board of 8 and a Chairman. Appointed is a Utilities Director to oversee the daily operations of the CPWA departments. The Wastewater Treatment Plant employs 3 full-time people and a Supervisor. The in-town department maintains the sewer lines and employs 3 full-time people. In addition to those departments there is a meter reader and a collections clerk.

The water department has approx 1500 meters and treats a yearly average of 1.1 million gallons per day. The maximum plant output is 2 million gallons per day. The water plant has a 1 million gallon storage tank on site and a 1/2 million elevated tower in town.

The Wastewater Treatment Plant has a maximum capacity of 1.9 million gallons a day and has a yearly average of 500,000 gallons per day treated.
